  • Wisdom teeth are the upper and lower third molars located at the very back of the mouth.
  • They are called wisdom as they appear at the age when a person is between 17-21 years old.
  • Many times they erupt crooked or facing wrong position.

Signs and Symptoms

  • Red or swollen gums.
  • Tender and bleeding gums.
  • Swelling around the jaw.
  • Bad breath.
  • An unpleasant taste in the mouth.
  • Difficulty in opening your mouth.

Complications

  • Damage to other teeth.
  • Cysts.
  • Decay.
  • Gum disease.
  • Unable to chew from that side.

Treatment

  • Medications, Proper Brushing, Gargling.
  • In case of recurrence, you may need to have the flap of the Gum Tissue removed.
  • In some cases, the wisdom tooth needs to be removed, it is determined after taking an X-Ray.
